Method Comparison

The two methods did not align, as expected, for this renewed moon cycle.

The Global observation was first seen at Darwin, Australia , east of Israel.

Because the count was 29 days from the previous sighting and the moon was not seen within Israel, the Israel-based methodology requires the month to be delayed by one additional day.

Archived Report

The first report for the 1st new moon of the year came from the region of Darwin, Australia on Saturday evening, April 2nd followed by Linxia Gansu Province, China and points westward. For Israel-based observers, there were no known reports of sightings within Israel due to clouds. Since this is the end of the 29th day from the start of the month (which was also delayed due to poor visibility), tomorrow, April 3rd, will begin the month by default for those using this method.

NOTE: Sightings are presented based on eyewitness reports without regard to their personal beliefs or affiliations. Steps are taken to help assure reports are accurate and truthful.
